Branded acne solutions are quite expensive so should you be looking for an economical yet effective alternative acne treatment, then use baking soda. Obtaining baking soda is not hard as it is available in any leading store. It can be used to help with your acne, remove some acne scars and it can even be applied as an exfoliant.

Skin pores that are blocked with sebum will result in acne to form and using an exfoliant is a great way to clear skin pores. One of the most helpful exfoliant that can get rid of those dead cells and sebum is the baking soda. Exfoliation is not the only significant effect of baking soda since it also helps with maintaining the acid-base balance of the skin.Hormonal problems happen if your skin’s pH level is abnormal. Remember that acnes tend to form when your hormone is extremely active. Unpleasant substances that are utilized in widely used acne brands are not contained in baking soda that's the reason why it has no associated side-effects.

Baking soda works better when used as an exfoliant, but you need to turn it into a paste so as to do it.

When making a paste, all you should do is to mix a small amount of baking soda and water until it is close to the texture of a tooth paste. Then, get sufficient amount of paste and softly put on over your skin. Let it stay for 20 minutes. Make sure to put on the paste in a soft circular stroke. The skin will become irritated if you rub hard, which then causes acne breakouts to worsen. Once the paste comes in contact with your skin, it will then remove dirt and congestion on your pores. Use water to wash off the paste. To get the best results you should do this 2-3 times per week.

Baking soda can also remove blemishes that are brought on by acne, aside from helping you prevent acnes. The paste solution is still applied, but you have to leave it on overnight. When you get up in the morning you can then wash it away. Sometimes leaving baking soda on the skin for too long can irritate it. In order to avoid that from occurring, it is best to try it for some hours and find out if you have any irritation.

Although this method will work for many people it won't work for everyone. If your acne problem continues much longer than a month or two, then a more advance acne treatment may be necessary for you. But you should at least try baking soda on your skin for at least a month. Significant enhancements on the overall look of your skin are noticeable even if it wasn’t able to remove acne.
