It is believed almost 85% of people will be affected from skin problems at some stage in their lifetime. Acne occurs most commonly in young adults; even so, you develop it right into your final years. With good information at your fingertips you can treat acne. If acne were to be handled correctly in the first place then psychological problems as well as scars would not be a worry.

Acne Development

We see the beginning of acne when your body secretes sebum directly into our follicles. The purpose of sebum is to moisturize your skin and hair. It is when your oil glands make excess sebum that people begin to see acne. And it’s not just sebum that blocks the pores on your skin, dead skin cells and harmful bacteria also fill up your pores.

What type of acne forms?

Whiteheads that are better known as comedones pop up whenever sebum becomes blocked just below the surface of the skin. Whiteheads when fully formed are similar to little white spots. Blackheads a different sort of comedone are a product of too much sebum getting pressed to the skin pores. When exposed to the surface of the skin, blackheads become oxidized and change to a black colour. Zits which are smallish blotches are a reaction to sebum aggravating the interior of the skins pores this will cause the infected area to become sore to touch. Cystic acne develops when acne bacteria breed deep inside the skin. Cystic acne can be very painful to touch and quite often leaves behind scars on the skin. What Causes Acne

Hormones are thought to be the reason why people develop acne. As a young child becomes a teen they begin to see more of the androgen hormone inside their bodies. What they do is because the glands to become a lot more widened which contribute to a lot more sebum getting taken into your pores. The male body will produce a lot more androgen compared to the female body, so they tend to be susceptible to acne.

Acne often follows from parents to siblings, the probability of you developing acne considering one of your parents had it as a teenager are fairly high. The kind of skin you have will have an impact on the type of acne you'll get. Those with dermatitis will be at a high risk to acne, given that the skin is weakened and exposed to attacks.

How to deal with acne

Benzoyl peroxide is a really harsh substance to use on your skin; however it is brilliant for clearing severe acne. The majority of acne can be eliminated by eating a decent diet and not over washing your skin. Be sure to avoid buying soaps as they're quite harsh on the skin. You’ll get scars on the skin in later life, when you pick at your zits. If you realize that you cannot clear the acne on your skin then it's time to contact a medical expert or perhaps a skin specialist. Also whenever a product you use is irritating your skin cease using it for a week. Never persist with a product when it repeatedly irritates the skin.

If you're women then you should also have a look at any oil based make-ups you are using.
